Some people who have a BMI over 30 and find it difficult to control eating because of their hormones. This makes it difficult to control their food intake and stick to healthy eating. I can help by prescribing medication that may help to reduce appetite and balance your hormones. This will increase the chances of maintaining good eating habits and achieving successful weight loss.

The length of time taken to achieve a target weight will vary from person to person depending on their starting weight, medical conditions, medication and personal circumstances. There is one certainty though; no weight loss plan that drops weight rapidly can help you lose weight permanently. How many times have you thought; “I’ll diet to reduce my weight quickly, and then eat healthily to maintain it”. Believe me, you are only deceiving yourself. Some of these fad diets and quick fixes can actually be harmful in the long-term including setting you up for a higher weight in the future. Commercial weight loss programs are a little better but most are based on calorie-counting and are doomed to failure as long-term hunger does not work. Food is meant to be pleasurable, not a mathematical equation to be solved at every meal!
