Dr Amer Sheikh MBChB MRCGP MSc

Dr Sheikh graduated from the University of Aberdeen Medical School in 1991. He became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 1995. He holds a Masters degree in Pain Management from the University of Edinburgh.

Dr Sheikh is an experienced general practitioner (family doctor) with a specialist interest in musculoskeletal pain conditions and lifestyle medicine.  His is a proponent of patient empowerment and using natural methods to heal the body that can be integrated with conventional evidence-based medicine.

Dr Sheikh was responsible for the design of the new integrated musculoskeletal service in NW Surrey that serves its population of 360,000 people. Surrey iMSK, as it is known, is a unique holistic musculoskeletal service that was nominated in 2018 for the prestigious Health Service Journal awards. He is a lecturer and current President of the British Medical Acupuncture Society. He is also a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain. Dr Sheikh innovated, co-wrote and lectured for the MSK and Chronic Pain Update Course for healthcare professionals across the UK until 2021. He is the trusted physician for a number of well-known sports and media personalities, as well as prominent individuals and families.
